Christian Party Ideas
The real reason for the season is to celebrate Jesus' birth with these Christian party ideas. My suggestion is to make the celebration a birthday party. Bake a birthday cake and sing "Happy Birthday" to Jesus. If you want to be even more creative, borrow a custom from the French Fetes des Rois. Bake cupcakes with a small seasonal item mixed in the batter. Whoever gets the cupcake with the hidden surprise is crowned "King for the Day". Have each of your guests bring a gift, a donation to their favorite charity in honor of Christ. For place settings, set out a candy cane for each guest with "The Legend of the Candy Cane" attached. You can find it here www.creativechocolates.com/candycane.html or www.creativechocolates.com/candycane.html. This second site includes related Bible verses which you might want to incorporate into a Bible trivia game. If there are children involved, you might try letting them reenact Luke 2 either as a play or using characters from a nativity set. For music, pick traditional Christmas hymns such as "Silent Night", "Away in a Manger" and "O Holy Night". Instrumental is probably most appropriate or purchase a Christmas CD recorded by your favorite Christian singer. Or they can make their own Christmas decorations.
