Disabilities come in many forms, so I'm just going to offer some suggestions that all kids might enjoy. You can them adapt them to the special needs of the children involved. 1. All kids love to make noise. You can buy jingle bells at the Dollar Store throughout the holiday season. Give a set to each child and let them shake them to their hearts' content. 2. Kids also love to exclaim, "Look what I did!" Try to arrange a simple craft ahead of time so they can take something home and feel like they've accomplished something. Make snowflakes, Christmas cards or felt trees. Cut them out ahead of time, and let the kids decorate them with glitter, sequins, paper ornaments to create their own Christmas decorations. 3. A rousing round of Christmas carols is sure to be a crowd pleaser at any party. Let each child pick their favorite song and teach its lyrics to the others. 4. Games: How about Pin the Nose on Rudolph or Toss the Beanbag in Santa's belly. Kids love to be actively involved and these types of activities can be adapted to almost any disability.
